Lifeguard and water safety courses are available year round from trained professionals who can help you gain the skills and confidence necessary for providing care and instruction when it's needed most. We offer a wide range of courses throughout the year, you can become certified, or earn your re-certification when it suits you best.
We offer American Red Cross certified Lifeguard training courses. Lifeguarding and water safety students must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class, and pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking our courses. Once students are enrolled, they'll receive the latest science-based training from experienced instructors, and develop skills they'll use for a lifetime. Courses are available in person, or via our Blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online coursework with in-person skills sessions. In addition to full courses, abbreviated re-certification courses are also available for those who hold current lifeguarding certifications.
Our detailed training includes both testing of hands-on skills as well as comprehension on written tests. The certification, which includes First Aid, CPR and AED training, is valid for two years upon completion and is accepted nationwide.
Longfellow WHALE Tales is taught to raise children’s awareness of safe behavior in, on and around the water. WHALE Tales is a free course that we offer. WHALE Tales can be taught without a pool and is a great rainy day activity.
